I had an idea for this piece... it was only going to be yellow hues. This is typically how things go when I have a plan.... I think it's going to be a certain way. I think about it. I visualize painting the way I have planned for it to be. And then.... It's not what happens. I'm led in another direction. I'm tempted every time to hold tight to the original plan, but it never feels right until I just surrender to what the piece wants to become. Ain't that some deep life shit?
